Anti-Derivative stuff

1.
  • positive (- 2,0) U (0, 2), negative (- infinity, -2) U (2, + infinity)
  • when f '(x) is positive f (x) is increasing, and when f ' (x) is negative f (x) is decreasing.

2.

  • local max at about x=+1.10, - 1.10, local min at x=0
  • locals are when there is a change in slope, tha point where it changes is the local

3.

  • up at (- infinity, -1.10) U ( 0, 1.10), down (-1.10, 0) U ( 1.10, + infinity)
  • it is up when it curves to look like a upside down "U", and its down when it curves to look like a "U"

4. f ' (x)= x^4 b/c the slope is moves/changes 3 times

Test Review

i did really bad in the test due to the fact that i barley understood what the free responses were talking about. i knew how to do them but at one point during the test i just got nervous so i forgot everything, i did pretty good on the multiple choice i got the 1st page right that made me feel good, but again in the end the free response ruined me. i think if i just review them alot i can do it in the make-up.

My Mindset..uh-oh!

1. I think i am a part of the Growth Mindset, the part that tells me this is the never becking down from challenges and to always go for new things

2. This mindset has actually really hurt me in math but not i=only that but in everything in school. i am always a person who says yes to everything, i like to challenge myself, i can rarly say no so something, and if i were to say no its only b/c i was doing something else. it has hurt me b/c this mindset always makes me busy and it takes me places where i struggle daily, i have been staying up untill 2 ever day now just barly finishing hw for classes, even right now as im talking i am barley 3/4 of a way through the hw, i am really struggling with it too due to the fact that there is always something on my agenda that i just cant concentrate, i still have alot of hw from other classes to do sooo...this sucks...

3.My reaction is that...it sucks...since i can never really train muscle, i mean come'on look at me im a skinny stick! if i cant even show off some muscle how can i expect to train that thing! it just really put another assigment on things to improve now

4. this will greatly affect my future in the fact that its showing me that, i have to start to focus, and i barley figured out untill now! that i have to even though people have been telling me since forever, im glad that at least some of my closest friends have been pressuring me, and in the end i get them in trouble, so this just shows me that i have to work for myself, i only have 1 1/2 years left untill im left alone.

"x=c"-i think u would call that a verb?

ok so i totally forgot about this blog.......
well
1.when finding the lim of x=c
well what i know so far is that hm...how do i put this. your finding numbers that get close to the main number you need from the + and - sides, which in the end will give u a guess answer

when plugging in x=c
when doing this you are just finding one point and that will be your exact point, thats just a brief explination to it

2.derivatives and the slope of a line
they are both the same in the sense that they are like the same thing, they both make u look for X over Y.

they are different
they can be different b/c the derivative is like it has to mainly do with tangent lines
and the slope of a line is with any line

1. 3 Majors

  • Anesthesiologist Assistant: they learn how to collect data, they help to give anesthesia. they also learn how to educate patients, administer drugs to them, monitor patient condition, and adjust anesthesia levels. if u would want to make a career of this then you would need classes like AP Calculus
  • Health/Medical Psychology: the explore the psychology of health, illness, and recovery. covers abnormal and social psychology, learning, therapy, research methods, and effects of drugs on mental states.
  • Forest Management: combination of forestry and natural resources. cover breeding, and measurements of trees, to policy and economics. then go on to administration of forest lands.

2. Colleges

  • University of Sciences in Philadelphia: a private school. minimum GPA 2.5. very little Hispanic/ native races. woman out rule the men 2/1. very good for health sciences, and pharmacy.
  • Keystone College: liberal arts college. minimum GPA 1.0. only up to bachelors degree. 93% applicants admitted. <1%>
  • Kaplan University: goes up to 1st professional. very large campus. again might get a good scholarship due to low Native American ethnicity's. minimum GPA 2.5.

Autobots..TRANSFORM...and roll out to math class

1.Transformations:
I am actually shocked that some people come to me to ask for help in this class, i am also shocked that they ask me about how the transformations are....but i am the most shocked on that how, i actually understand transformations!!!. one tip that helps me to understand transformations is the "( )". when and equation is like, f(x)=(x-3) then the graph will shift to the left 3, compared to f(x)=x-3 where the graph will shift down 3. How "( )" helps me is that they go on the left and right of the equation so it tells me that the graph would either go left...or right! then if the equation has both like, f(x)=(x-3)-3, then the graph will go left 3, and down 3.

2. Trigonometry:
lets cut to the chase...its all about the Unit Circle. the unit circle is by far the most annoying math concept EVER!. the only way i know how to remember the unit circle is the was ms.hwang told us...in the 1st Q its Pi/6, Pi/4, Pi/3....to find the 2nd Q it would be the 1st Q but (-1), then in the 3rd Q its the 1st Q (+1), then in the 4th Q its the 1st Q 2x-1. and even though it sounds complicated that the only way i can memorize it and i still have to take awhile to do it. to be honest i kinda guessed on some of the answers for the quiz....and i got it right =]!, but i understand the points, by using angles to find the opposite side.

3. The Problems With Me:
here is what i cannot get... as u can tell...the unit circle...i need a faster more efficient way to memorize and understand it. another problem i am having is the cos-1, tan-1, etc. they confuse me to the point, where i will draw the same graph over and over....and just say they're different.

Logs and Inverses...(sarcastic) how exciting....

ok so heres the deal
Log's:
i know that log can have a base of any number, and that if a log doesnt have a base then its automatically 10. i also know how to solve log prolems like log3^9 = 2 because 2^3 is 9. what i also know is that if a "ln" had a base of "e" then they would both cancel out.

Inverse's:
inverses are simply what the word inverse means which is in my terms, opposite. for instance the inverse of f(x) is f-1(x). i know how to solve most of them for example if f(x)=3, the f-1(x)=1/3, b/c it would be kinda like the opposite.

heres what i dont know/hate!:
i hate the fact that i do not understand how are ln and log different?
i also hate that i cannot remember how to sole a log function when it has a "x" infornt of the log like, x log3^2=10...how do u answer that!?!?!?
